Let's give it up to @deeinuae who was inspired to try a #diabeticmeal on her recent flight on #emiratesairline from Dubai to New York City in BUSINESS CLASS after reading my reviews.
She says, "This was the first time that I did not feel bloated from all the carbs on a flight. From here on out I'm ordering diabetic meals." She was served Dinner and Breakfast. Her pre-dinner salad came with a side of tuna, fresh green and purple lettuce topped with 3 juicy scallops. (SCALLOPS!! This is certainly not the economy #diabeticmeals that I am use to having 😉). For dinner, she had Salmon (yep, she got fish! See my previous review for my thoughts about fish), snow peas, edamame, and mashed sweet potatoes.
For breakfast, she had an egg white omelette to which she said, "this was the best egg white omelette I've had." It sure looks delicious next to the chicken sausage, homestyle potatoes, mushrooms, and tomatoes.
She gave the following ranking
Taste = 5/5
I had an awesome meal on #middleeastairlines flying from Paris to Beirut. I booked my ticket last minute so I didn't have time to request my usual #diabeticmeal (most airlines require 48hrs advance booking). But I was only disappointed momentarily because I had a choice between chicken or fish. This may not seem important initially, but let me explain. ALL the #diabeticmeals that I have had recently were chicken. Chicken, chicken, chicken! I'm am all clucked out. 😀 I gladly replied "poisson" (fish in French) when asked which meal I wanted.
It was delicious! So much so that I cleaned my plate (bottom right picture w/a few grains of rice left is proof). I can't remember the last time I ate #airplanefood with such delight.
Of course I had to select which carbs I would eat because the rolls, chocolate muffin, wild rice, and fruit tart are well above my carb count per meal. I chose to eat the wild rice and two bites of the muffin.

Here's one way having Type 2 diabetes changed my enjoyment of Paris. Much more available on my 10-Minute talk about Type 2 on my live broadcast found on ZubiaLive.com. Just click on my profile and look under "PAST Broadcasts"
This was my #diabeticmeal on #norwegianairlines flying from Paris to Fort Lauderdale. @flynorwegian you win 2nd place for "Most Bland Chicken Breast on an Airplane" (1st place goes to #etihadairways as discussed on an earlier post)
This dinner needs some serious adjustments, beyond the bland chicken breast. I would like to inform you that people living with diabetes limit their carb intake to about 45g per meal. Limit also means, we NEED 45g of carbs. This meal fails in the carb department because it does not have enough. There are no rolls, no dessert, or juice.
When flying on long flights, I often experience hypoglycemia and therefore I need a little more sugar than usual. So, to not even have 45g of carbs was a serious disappointment.
I was so thankful for being able take a muffin from my daughter's tray, I could have done the whip and nae nae up and down the aisle.
Look at how yummy that muffin is-why deprive people living with diabetes of it?

So let's talk about this delicious breakfast that I had on Middle Eastern Airlines flying from Beirut to Paris. Dear, @mea_airliban this was my first time flying with you and your breakfast #diabeticmeal did not disappoint.
Everything I ate on this plate was delicious. To begin, I must say that I LOVE BREAKFAST FOODS and this omelette, cooked with REAL eggs, was delightful.
I have to give you an extra bonus point for having spreadable cheese to accommodate the roll instead of margarine. I HATE margarine. Give me butter or give me death, well not really but you get my point. Airlines loved substituting margarine for butter so much so that I am going to start carrying butter through security checks. LOL
Please tell me where you got this kiwi from? It was firm and sweet to perfection. There is nothing like having FRESH fruit with your meal.
By the I finished my omelette with steamed broccoli and grilled tomato (way to go on adding vegetables to th...
